Over 120 Articles Focused on Music of The ’70s!

The 1970s were uncertain times for several reasons; The Vietnam War; The ‘Cold War’; The Three-Day Week (UK) … and would it be spam or fish fingers for tea?

One thing that was certain, we’re sure you’ll agree, was that the music of that decade was the best. (It still is if you ask us. 😉) It’s no surprise then, that music should feature so predominately here on Once Upon a Time in The ’70s.

The posts are written by a variety of contributors, and cover pretty much every genre of that period. From general chart music, through Glam Rock, Classic Rock, Progressive Rock and Punk Rock to Soul, Funk Disco, Jazz and Singer / Songwriter, we have it covered. Each of the articles and recollections is written from a personal perspective by the author … so you won’t find any ‘AI’ or bland, regurgitated-fact-stuffed Wiki types on here! Oh no, no, no. 😀

There are over 380 posts on Once Upon a Time in The ’70s; more than 120 of these are music based, which could make finding a particular piece of interest, difficult to find – which is why we have created the Music Directory.

The Music Directory can be quickly accessed from the Main Menu Bar at the top of whatever page you happen to be on. To aid your search for an article of interest, we’ve placed the bands / artists into broad genres. Of course you can also make use of the Menu at the right of all screens … or even just enter the name of a band / artist into the Search box ( directly below that aforementioned Menu) and see where on the blog they happen to be mentioned.

Once Upon a Time in The ’70s – keeping the music alive!

Cheers!

  1. The directory looks great! I know Max and I were going to try to categorize my blogs, but time and busy schedules always seem to set it on the back burner. Now that my blogs are more predictable (books, music, family, etc…) maybe it is time for me to make the time for that

  2. Thanks Keith.

Yeah, I think that as blogs grow, there’s a danger of so many posts lying at the bottom of the pile as it were, and no longer being noticed

It was a hard shift, getting all linked and in a coherent order, but I think it’s a worthwhile exercise.

  3. Congrats, you guys have built a great blog! Together with the ’60s, the ’70s remain my favorite decade in music. In fact, I could easily spend the remainder of my music journey listening to stuff from just these two decades and never get bored.

Sure, you can also find some great music in each other decade, even including new music that’s coming out nowadays. Unlike the ’60s and ’70s, you generally have to look beyond the charts to find the real good stuff. This is part of what I’m trying to illustrate on my blog.
